Joel W. Thorp is a Senior Associate Attorney with Galbraith, PLLC in the firm’s Indianapolis office. He practices in the areas of estate planning and trust administration.
Mr. Thorp received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2004 where he also completed a specialized law and business core curricula in coordination with the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. He graduated from Wheaton College in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and theology. He maintained this dual interest in law and ministry, initially working with a large Indianapolis law firm before invited to join the ministry staff at his church for two years and then returning to a smaller Indianapolis law firm to lead their estate and business services groups for 13 years.
Joel is a problem solver and relishes the opportunity to simplify complex topics as a means to help clients use brilliant legal tools. His past ministry experience also affords skills to serve and understand in matters of great personal importance.

Personal: Joel lives in Indianapolis with his wife and daughters. They are actively involved in their church, Common Ground Midtown, and their children’s schools. They also enjoy adventure-seeking as a family and love their animals – including a flock of backyard chickens and an orphaned duck!
